[video] EcoVogue, rubbish like a star

 

Eco Vogue is a 2004 work dealing with ecologic indifference. Rubish and trash things left on a septembrine beach are photographed like Vogue models: they are the new (economic) stars!

Eco Vogue was born in 2004. It's a series of about 40 images dedicated to the waste left in early September on a beach in the southern coast of Gargano, Italy, just one single little beach. The area depicted in the images is confined, approximately 500 meters of beach. The density of the waste found there every year is so high that you simply need to turn around to capture it. Considering the fact that the season had ended a couple of days earlier and that the same beach had been very crowded throughout the summer season, the waste captured is only an expression of the last weekend by the sea.

Exhibited in 2005 at the Sporting Club Siponto and brought to schools in the form of a slideshow, the series aims to showcase the waste at its best, treating them chromatically as if they were models of a fashion magazine on display, and the images serve as gateways to distant dream worlds. A dream that most of the time lulls reason to sleep.

Eco Vogue nasce nel 2004. E' una serie di circa 40 immagini dedicate ai rifiuti lasciati agli inizi di settembre su una spiaggia del litorale sud del Gargano, una sola spiaggia. L'area raccontata dalle immagini è circoscritta, circa 500 m di spiaggia. La densità dei rifiuti che ogni anno si trova li è cosi alta che semplicemente basta girarsi per riprendere. Considerato il fatto che la stagione era terinata da un paio di giorni e che la stessa spiaggia era stata molto popolata per tutta la stagione estiva, i rifiuti ripresi sono solamente espressione dell'ultimo weekend di mare.

Esposta nel 2005 presso lo Sporting Club Siponto e portata nelle scuole sottoforma di slideshow, la serie vuole mostrare al meglio i rifiuti, trattandoli cromaticamente come se fossero modelle di una rivista fashion in bella mostra e le immagini porte per mondi lontani da sogno. Un sogno che la maggior parte delle volte assopisce la ragione.
